Fulminant liver dysfunction after endovascular pharmacomechanical thrombectomy for peripheral arterial occlusive disease.
Аннотация
Derangement of liver function is a rare, but known, complication of percutaneous pharmacomechanical thrombectomy (PMT). PMT can cause intravascular hemolysis, which results in cell-mediated and direct hepatocellular toxicity. We report the case of a patient who suffered such a complication, and recovered with close monitoring of liver function in an intensive care setting. Further studies will elucidate the risk factors for and mechanisms of post-thrombectomy acute hepatitis, and providers should maintain a high index of suspicion in patients who have recently undergone PMT.
