Аннотация
Nurses have the potential to provide care for patients with bronchiectasis by assessing needs and co-ordinating input from other health professionals. Bronchiectasis is a disease that is poorly understood by the public and non-specialists. However, by educating both colleagues and patients, nurses can greatly improve care. This article highlights nursing care delivery to people with bronchiectasis and explores the need for further specialist nurse development. It describes the findings of a UK audit undertaken in December 2024, completed by 72 nurses who provide care and treat patients with bronchiectasis in primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare settings.
