Аннотация
Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is characterized by persistent inflammation of the nasal passages and formation of polyps. Despite advances in medical and surgical strategies, a high proportion of patients are still refractory to treatment and experience significant recurrence. Presently, identifying molecular targets for effective therapies remains a critical challenge. Recent studies have identified the enzyme known as arachidonate 15-lipoxygenase (ALOX15) as a key contributor to the pathogenesis of CRSwNP. However, the precise mechanisms are not yet well understood. In this study, we aim to summarize the current knowledge of ALOX15, elucidate its mechanism in the pathogenesis of CRSwNP, and emphasize its potential application in CRSwNP.
