Аннотация
Adolescents with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) are severely affected in their quality of life and pursuit of independence due to progressive muscle weakness and movement limitations. Gamified occupational therapy (OT) can be used to alleviate these difficulties and enable young patients to become more independent in their activities of daily living. This study aims to analyze the effect of a gamified OT program on adolescents diagnosed with DMD to improve their quality of life, occupational performance, and psychosocial health. Boys aged 13-18 years will be assessed for quality of life, occupational performance, and psychosocial health using the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 3.0 Neuromuscular Module, Canadian Occupational Performance Measure, and The Children's Depression Inventory. OT and gamified approaches can provide significant benefits for patients with DMD in improving functional abilities, gaining independence, and improving overall quality of life. These interventions can support patients to become more active in activities of daily living and cope with psychosocial challenges. Furthermore, gamification can increase patients' commitment and motivation to therapy by making the rehabilitation process more fun and engaging. This study aims to make innovative contributions to the rehabilitation methods of adolescents with DMD by evaluating the effectiveness of gamified OT program.Clinical trial registration: ClinicalTrials.Gov NCT06402942.
