Аннотация
PURPOSE: To assess improvements of patients with ectodermal dysplasia (ED) treated by a multidisciplinary team with provision of fixed prostheses supported by dental implants.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Two patients with ED and hypodontia were treated with a new maxillary complete dental prosthesis or fixedimplant prosthesis and a mandibular fixed dental prosthesis (FDP) with implants. Patients were assessed with questionnaires to evaluate improvements in function and social and psychologic problems.
RESULTS: Improvement in all aspects was reported for the two patients. A comprehensive team was able to provide a treatment plan that improved individual functional, social, and psychologic status.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with ED treated with dental implants reported encouraging outcomes after the prostheses were fitted and delivered.
