Giant Mesenteric Angioleiomyoma: A Rare Case Report.
Аннотация
Angioleiomyomas are rare benign tumors of smooth muscle primarily originating from blood vessels. This tumor displays a distinctive histological pattern characterized by bundles of spindle-shaped smooth muscle cells arranged around numerous small vascular spaces. The diagnosis is possible with distinct histopathological and immunohistochemical analysis due to its nonspecific clinical and radio-imaging features. In this article, we report our experience with patients treated for rare angioleiomyomas located near the urinary bladder and describe their demographics and clinical courses. A 23-year-old unmarried male came to the surgical outpatient unit with complaints of abdominal pain for the past 1 month. Ultrasonography of the abdomen and pelvis revealed an approximately 8.5 cm × 18.6 cm × 18 cm heterogeneous mass lesion extending from the presacral region to the umbilical region. Intraoperative findings revealed a large 30 cm × 20 cm mass originating from the fundus of the urinary bladder. Histopathological examination showed a benign spindle cell neoplasm, confirming the diagnosis of angioleiomyoma. Larger angioleiomyomas, as in our case, required an external surgical approach. Further research is needed to better understand the etiology and treatment approaches for this uncommon site.
