Аннотация
Congenital knee hyperextension (CKH), or congenital genu recurvatum, is a rare orthopedic anomaly in neonates that requires prompt intervention to prevent long-term disability. This case report presents the successful non-surgical management of a one-day-old female neonate presenting with severe unilateral CKH (Leveuf Type I/II) in a resource-limited setting. The novelty of this case lies in the application of an accelerated, two-stage serial casting protocol spanning just 14 days, followed by targeted physiotherapy. This approach resulted in the complete resolution of the deformity and full functional recovery within three weeks. Clinical follow-up at 3 months confirmed durable joint stability and age-appropriate motor development. This case highlights the efficacy of early, tailored conservative intervention, offering a cost-effective alternative to surgical management or prolonged orthotic therapy in settings where advanced orthopedic resources are scarce.
