A pulsating water jet (PWJ) offers advantages over a continuous water jet, such as lower liquid volume flows and pressures for deeper cuts. In this paper, coating removal characteristics of water jet by micro jet flow affected by cleaning parameters is analyzed. Exploratory bioaerosol sampling was performed in order to assess exposure to airborne endotoxins during sewer work. Personal samples were collected in underground sewer pipes using 37-mm closed-face cassettes containing fibreglass filters (CFC-FG method) or polycarbonate filters (CFC-PC method). A 31-year-old man developed a localized corneal epithelial lesion after exposure to a high-pressure fire extinguisher jet. Visual acuity was temporarily decreased from 20/20 to 20/40 and intraocular pressure was increased to 28 mm Hg. Both values returned to normal within 18 hours after treatment. This represents an extreme form of anterior corneal mosaic associated with microsplits of the corneal epithelium.
