Tumour (n = 338) and corresponding liver tissue (n = 276) of liver cell carcinoma (LCC) patients including 31 Asiatic cases was studied with immunohistochemical methods (IHC) for the expression of HBs (7MABs and 2 PABs), HBc, HBe, HBx, and preS antigens. PURPOSE: To evaluate abdominal computed tomographic (CT) findings in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: CT scans with abnormal findings in 259 patients (247 men, 12 women; age range, 21-60 years) with HIV infection were analyzed. Mutations of the p53 tumor suppressor gene with immunohistochemically detectable expression of p53 protein have been described in many different malignant tumors. Alterations in the expression of the RB tumour suppressor gene were found by Western immunoblot in three of seven hepatocellular carcinoma and hepatoblastoma cell lines.
