PURPOSE: In a recent article, our group proposed a fast direct aperture optimization (DAO) algorithm for fixed-gantry intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) called fast inverse direct aperture optimization (FIDAO). When tested on fixed-gantry IMRT plans, we observed up to a 200-fold increase in the optimization speed. Compared to IMRT, rotational volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) is a much larger optimization problem and has many more delivery constraints. PURPOSE: To develop a probability-based differential diagnosis for pediatric acute liver failure (PALF) based on age and socioeconomic status of the country of origin.
METHODS: Comprehensive literature search using PubMed, EMBASE, and SCOPUS databases was performed. Children 0-22 years of age who met PALF registry criteria were included. Articles included >10 children, and could not be a case report, review article, or editorial. No language filter was utilized, but an English abstract was required. Etiology of PALF, age of child, and country of origin was extracted from included articles.

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), with or without inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), confers the risk of cholangiocarcinoma. Isolated IBD may be an independent risk factor for cholangiocarcinoma. We sought to compare cholangiocarcinoma phenotype and outcomes between patients with PSC, IBD, and neither.
METHODS: Patients with malignancy were separated into cohorts by the presence of PSC and IBD. Data regarding demographics, clinical presentation, therapeutic regimens, and survival were collected. Statistical analysis was carried out using GraphPad and R-Studio.
