The effect of continuous gamma irradiation at exponentially decreased dose rates (from 562 mGy/h to 13 mGy/h with a total cumulative dose of 14.355 Gy delivered over a period of 10 days) on the nucleic acid content of rat hemopoietic tissues and blood was followed up. A single method was used in all cases: debridement of the radial head and exeresis of the apophysis. The statistics presented are derived from 100 elbows operated in 90 patients between 1970 and 1988. Fifty-four (54%) of the patients were men. Acute and subacute post-traumatic stress reactions are reported among 246 employees of an industrial factory which was severely damaged by an explosion and fire. Sixty-six A-subjects had narrow escape experiences (high stress exposure group), while 59 B-subjects were less severely exposed (medium stress exposure group). The 121 C-subjects were not present at work when the explosion occurred (low stress exposure group). This paper is a progress report of the epidemiologic work carried out under the supervision of the Lombardy Regional Authority during the two years elapsed from the accident in a TCP-producing factory (ICMESA) in Meda (Italy), which resulted in the contamination of several towns of a large, densely populated area called the Brianza di Seveso with a total population of 220,000 inhabitants. The Diaphane-program instituted under the authority of the French Society of Nephrology has been steadily expanding since 1972. By December 1977, about 1500 patients treated in 30 public and private Dialysis Centres were followed up by this system. Full coverage of expenses is provided by the participating Centres. The statistical work presented in this report involves 1572 adult patients treated between June 1972 and December 1976 in 24 dialysis centres. The amount of collected data and the duration of the observation period permit to build up evolutive profiles of the population of patients

1. Study of a group of 50 patients suspected to have coronary artery disease. This is a complement to a previous study concerning "definite" coronary patients. 2. The method followed consisted in cross-examination of the files by three observers in order to separate the subjects who seemed really affected by coronary artery disease. This treble examination led to a rather restrictive selection.
