[An oral enteritis-vaccine composed of twelve heat inactivated Enterobacteriaceae. 1. Communication: Theoretical and epidemiological considerations (author's transl)].

The infectious diseases of the human intestinal tract which are caused by bacteria must be distinguished into two groups on account of their different pathogenesis: the cyclic infections (typhoid fever, parathyphoid fever) and the local infections (cholera, dysentery, Salmonella enteritis, dyspepsia coli infections). The local infections of the intestine do not cause a systemic but only a local immunity of the intestinal mucosa. It is necessary therefore to induce local immunity as active immunoprophylaxis by orally administering inactivated antigens. The twelve-fold enteritis vaccine consists

[Hepatitis risk to dentists. Studies on the frequency of hepatitis in dentists in the Munich region and in the district of Upper Bavaria].

Dentists have a particular risk of acquiring viral hepatitis because of their close contact with blood and saliva during dental manipulations--especially as the majority of dentists do not use gloves during work and often have small cuts and abrasions on their hands. On the other hand personnel in the dentist's office offers several potential modes of parenteral and oral-intestinal transmission of hepatitis. In order to find out the risk of dentists exposing themselves to hepatitis-infection (especially hepatitis B-infection) we performed a questionnaire-study among practicing dentists all ove

Study of an attenuated strain of feline infectious enteritis (panleucopaenia) virus. I. Spread of vaccine virus from cats affected with feline respiratory disease.

In the course of developing a living attenuated feline infectious enteritis (panleucopaenia) vaccine, it was found that respiratory disease-infected cats newly inoculated with this vaccine spread vaccine virus to respiratory disease-infected in-contact controls. These in-contact controls were able to infect other cats with which they were placed in contact so that after five natural transmissions in this way and two oral administrations and subsequent re-isolations, reversion to virulence became evident. It is clear that before general release of a new living feline infectious enteritis vaccin
