BACKGROUND: To investigate the monoexponential and biexponential apparent diffusion parameters in different anatomical regions of the healthy pancreas using intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion weighted imaging (DWI).
METHODS: Fifty-seven healthy volunteers (age, 45.0 ± 10.8 years) were recruited. Our aim was to describe the clinicopathologic features of cases of solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) of the pancreas diagnosed in our section. We retrieved hematoxylin and eosin and immunohistochemistry slides of SPN of pancreas diagnosed between 2002 and 2014 and reviewed slides. A total of 25 cases were included in the study. INTRODUCTION: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNET) are rare, often indolent malignancies. PNET are classified as functional or nonfunctional based on the secretion of hormones without a negative feedback loop; the latter account for up to 60% of PNET. Although PNET are associated with a better prognosis compared to pancreatic adenocarcinomas, they are often diagnosed in advanced stages, making them a significant source of morbidity for patients. Here we present a rare case of venous tumor thrombus arising from a nonfunctional PNET.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy in patients with local advanced pancreatic cancer.
METHODOLOGY: 39 patients with local advanced pancreatic cancer were treated with HIFU, including 26 male and 13 female patients. This retrospective study included 92 consecutive patients with locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer treated in the Turku University Hospital in 2010. The diagnosis of pancreatic cancer was verified by either histological samples (adenocarcinoma) or by imaging or both, excluding other known histological types of tumours. Median patient survival was 11 months. Smokers had a better median overall survival (20 months) than non-smokers (10 months) (p=0.029). Hydatid disease is an endemic and common zoonosis in India. Liver is the most common site of infection. However, extra hepatic primary pancreatic hydatid cyst is rare. OBJECTIVE: To explore the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) manifestations of pancreatic neuroendocrine carcinoma (PNC).
METHODS: The clinical data of 7 PNC patients as confirmed by pathological examination were analyzed retrospectively and the relevant literatures discussed.
