Understudied bacterial genera present a dynamic phylogenetic landscape and opportunities for discovering new taxa as more strains are isolated and genomic data is added. Here, through phylogenomic analysis, we describe three novel species of the globally distributed cosmopolitan marine bacterial genus Microbulbifer.
