A 24-year-old male who underwent extensive resection and postoperative radiotherapy for a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor in the right infratemporal fossa with intracranial extension and invasion of the maxillary sinus and mandible had a recurrence in the scar of his craniotomy for which he was initially treated with doxorubicin. After discontinuation of doxorubicin he developed a metastatic mass at the same site for which he was treated with electroporation

Paradolichopithecus sushkini is a large fossil cercopithecine from the late Pliocene discovered at Kuruk-Say, southern Tajikistan. Despite its rather long face and large size, many authorities regard Paradolichopithecus not as a baboon, but as a large macaque, mainly based on the cranial morphology of European specimens. Among Old World monkeys, macaques are the only species that possess a maxillary sinus. The status of anatomy-morphology of maxillary mucosa depending on the time of interconnection between the maxillary sinus and oral cavity, the size of it and its function were studied. The study was conducted on 25 patients and 20 cadavers. Changes in the mucous membrane of the maxillary sinus in relation to some of factors are discussed.

METHOD: Sixty adult SD rats were divided randomly into three groups: control group (group A), sinusitis group (group B) and intravenous injection of minocycline group (group C). A case of Oncocytoma of maxillary sinus in a 73 years old female is reported along with a brief review of literature. To the best of our knowledge this extremely rare tumor is the first of its kind reported in Nepal. Literature review has revealed only four such cases originating from maxillary sinus.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate stress distribution by finite element analysis in an accurate model simulating trabecular bone using micro-CT. Craniofacial osteomas may be located either superficially or intraosseously on any bone of the cranium or face or within a paranasal sinus. Osteomas within the paranasal sinus account for 0.01% to 0.43% of patients; of these, up to 80% occur in the frontal sinus. An osteoma of maxillary sinus is extremely rare. We describe a rare case of osteoma of a 56-year-old Asian woman in the maxillary sinus.

INTRODUCTION: Sino-nasal inverted papilloma is a rare benign tumor of the nasal fossa and the paranasal sinuses for which the successful surgical treatment by an endonasal approach has been corroborated in the literature. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinicopathological profile of sinonasal inverted papilloma in a tertiary referral center in eastern part of Nepal.
METHODS: A prospective study consisting of total 28 histologically proven cases of sinonasal inverted papilloma was conducted in the ENT department of the center. The study period was from April 2002 to November 2005.
