OBJECTIVE: To investigate epidemiological, clinical and oncological outcomes of young patients with laryngeal cancer (LC).
METHODS: PubMed, Scopus and Cochrane Library were searched by three researchers for studies investigating epidemiological, clinical and oncological outcomes of patients with age < 40 years old and LC. The following outcomes were investigated with PRISMA criteria: age; ethnicity; gender; tobacco/alcohol habits; anatomical, pathological, therapeutic and survival features. Authors performed a bias analysis of papers and provided recommendations for future studies.

INTRODUCTION: Benign lymphoid hyperplasia uncommonly involves the larynx. Involvement of glottis and subglottis is even rare, considering sparse lymphatic supply compared to supraglottis.
CASE REPORT: A young female presented to emergency with worsening breathing difficulty. After securing the airway, she had found to have circumferential glottis and subglottic mucosa covered firm swelling. Histopathological evaluation of the swelling showed it to be benign lymphoid hyperplasia. Coblation assisted excision of the lesion was done, and the patient became asymptomatic without any recurrence.

Laryngomalacia is the top cause of pediatric laryngeal wheeze. We used computational fluid dynamics to study the inspiratory airflow dynamics in severe pediatric laryngomalacia. Computed tomography was performed on the upper airways of two infants, one with severe laryngomalacia and one with normal airway, and 3D models were reconstructed. Lipomas are common benign mesenchymal neoplasms. Although 13% of lipomas are found in the head and neck, only 0.6% have been reported in the larynx.
