BACKGROUND: The donor organs available for lung transplantation remain far fewer than the number of recipients. Therefore, it is of primary importance to optimize this resource, especially by carefully selecting potential recipients. The diagnosis of end-stage diseases referred for transplantation is mainly based on clinical/radiologic assessment and rarely on histology.

BACKGROUND: Prescriptions that are ordered by physicians but not picked up by patients represent a potential quality improvement opportunity in health systems. Previous research has demonstrated that anywhere from as little as 0.28% to as much as 30.0% of prescriptions are unclaimed, and that 0.45% to 22.0% of patients fail to claim prescriptions. In the Military Health System (MHS), prescriptions filled at military pharmacies are dispensed with no copayment, providing an opportunity to examine the factors that contribute to unclaimed prescriptions other than out-of-pocket cost.

In this study, we investigated possible independent predictive factors for survival, other than MELD score, in patients with cirrhosis. We reviewed the serum sodium, cholesterol, albumin, and platelet levels of 99 patients with cirrhosis and investigated the possible correlation of these parameters with survival period. Fenazaquin is a non-systemic acaricide/insecticide used widely in controlling mites and other related pests in fruits, vegetables and tea. The objective of this research was to investigate the disappearance trend in tea of fenazaquin residue level and its transfer in brew. Fenazaquin was applied on a tea crop at two rates, 125 and 250 g AI/ha in wet and dry seasons under field conditions.
