The development of granulomatous lesions in distant organs is an uncommon complication of the immunotherapy with BCG vaccine. We report a case of granulomatous hepatitis after the 12th BCG intravesical instillation (6 weekly followed by 6 monthly) in a 58-year-old man with superficial bladder cancer. BACKGROUND: With more and more centres worldwide resorting to primary anastomosis for most left sided colonic pathology, the place for a Hartmann procedure seems to be relegated to surgical history books. However, in our centre it is still being performed on a regular basis. As such, we decided to retrospectively look at our results for the procedure.

Tumors with oncocytic differentiation may occur in a variety of organs, but are extremely rare in the biliary system. Intraductal oncocytic papillary neoplasms (IOPNs) were first described in the pancreas to differentiate a rare subset of pancreatic neoplasm from the intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs). IOPN of the extrahepatic biliary tree has not been previously described. We describe the first case of an intraductal oncocytic papillary neoplasm at the bifurcation of the common hepatic duct in a 52-year-old white male with a two-year history of intermittent biliary obstruction.

BACKGROUND: Phyllodes tumor (cystosarcoma phyllodes) is a rare fibroepithelial neoplasm of the breast. Malignant phyllodes tumor is characterized by an infiltrative border and marked degree of hypercellular stromal overgrowth with > 5 mitoses per 10 high-power fields. Distant metastasis occurs in 10-20% of patients with malignant phyllodes tumor. The most common sites of distant metastases are the lungs, bone and abdominal viscera.
