BACKGROUND: The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has led to a unique set of circumstances, straining health-care systems and affecting the way of life in societies around the world. Measures such as social isolation, travel restrictions, and workplace closures have led to an increase in motorcycle use. Consequently, motorcycle accidents have become a significant problem during this period. This study presents detailed research conducted to examine motorcycle accidents during the COVID-19 pandemic and to understand the causes and consequences of the increase in these accidents.

PURPOSE: To characterize the frequency of incidental dural tears in pediatric spine surgery, their treatment, complications, and results of long-term follow-up.
METHODS: A retrospective review of all pediatric patients who underwent a posterior spinal fusion (PSF) between 2004-2019 at a tertiary children's hospital was conducted. Electronic medical records were reviewed for patient demographics, intra-operative data, presence of an incidental dural tear, repair method, and patient outcomes.

INTRODUCTION: Currently, there is no effective therapy for mucopolysaccharidosis IIIA (MPS IIIA). Intravenously-administered enzyme replacement therapies, while effective in other forms of MPS without neurological involvement, have not been successful in patients with MPS IIIA, as they are unable to cross the blood-brain barrier to improve neurological symptoms.
