Risk of mental health disorders following traumatic ocular and orbital injury.

PURPOSE: Traumatic ocular injuries may lead to short- and long-term psychiatric consequences; however, the risk of developing mental health disorders after such injuries is not well defined. This study aimed to determine the incidence rates of mental health disorders following traumatic ocular or orbital injury compared to matched controls. METHODS: In this retrospective cohort study, we used electronic health records from a federated database covering 20 years, through December 5, 2025. Patients with ocular or orbital trauma were matched by age, sex, and race to controls who underwent compreh

Three-dimensional dynamic evaluation of facial soft tissue changes following anterior traction in growing Angle Class III malocclusion patients.

BACKGROUND: The aesthetic improvement of the midface is a critical goal in treating growing children with Angle Class III malocclusion. While the skeletal effects of maxillary anterior traction are well-established, predicting the final aesthetic outcome requires a precise understanding of the accompanying three-dimensional (3D) soft tissue response. Current literature lacks detailed, dynamic quantification of these adaptive changes using high-precision methodology. This study aims to address this gap by employing dynamic stereophotogrammetry to sequentially analyze the 3D soft tissue kinemati

Surgical Management of Relative Chin Prominence in Class II Malocclusions.

BACKGROUND: Relative chin prominence is commonly observed in certain Class II malocclusion morphotypes, particularly in deep bite and Class II Division 2 patterns. Despite mandibular retrusion, soft tissue volume and anterior mandibular rotation can produce a prominent chin appearance. This esthetic paradox presents a challenge for surgical planning and is currently not addressed by standardized management protocols. PURPOSE: To summarize the surgical approaches reported for the management of relative chin prominence in Class II malocclusions. STUDY SELECTION: The review was conducted in acc

Performance of a through-transmit aberration correction method for transcranial focused ultrasound: Simulation and experimental evaluation.

Transcranial focused ultrasound is a promising neuromodulation tool, but skull-induced aberrations to the ultrasound beam require subject-specific correction. To predict and compensate for aberration, the standard in transcranial focused ultrasound is to perform acoustic simulations based on x-ray computed tomography images of the head. However, computed tomography-based methods face shortcomings due to imaging resolution and uncertainty in acoustic parameter estimates. Relativistic through-transmit (RTT) is a recently proposed imaging-independent method that corrects skull-induced aberrations
