BACKGROUND: The EAT-Lancet dietary pattern is a healthy eating model linked to multiple health benefits. However, whether it is associated with uterine cancer, including malignancies of the isthmus uteri, endometrium, myometrium, fundus uteri, overlapping lesions of the corpus uteri, and uterus of unspecified site, remains unexplored.
METHODS: This study comprised 114,572 women without uterine cancer at baseline. Participants who had at least one 24-h dietary recall record in the UK Biobank were included. Cox proportional hazards models were applied to estimate hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% con

OBJECTIVE: The role of physical activity timing in the development and progression of malignant neoplasms of the female reproductive system remains to be elucidated. Malignant neoplasms of female genital organs include those of the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterine corpus, uterus (part unspecified, site not further defined), ovaries, placenta, and other unspecified sites. This study aimed to investigate the association between patterns of physical activity and the risk of malignant neoplasms of the female reproductive system.
METHODS: This study was reported in accordance with the STROBE guideli

BACKGROUND: Cervical and corpus uteri cancer mortality may be underestimated due to a proportion of deaths attributed to unspecified uterine cancer. The aim was to estimate corrected mortality rates and trends for cervical and corpus uteri cancer in Estonia after reallocation of underlying cause of death using individual linkage of death records and cancer registry records.
METHODS: Deaths in Estonian female population in 2000-2021 with the underlying cause of cervical cancer (ICD-10 code C53), corpus uteri cancer (C54) or cancer of uterus not otherwise specified (C55) were individually linke

OBJECTIVE: A large percentage of uterine cancer deaths worldwide are not attributed to the cervix or corpus, but classified as uterus part 'unspecified'. We provided the trend for the proportion of uterine cancer deaths certified as 'unspecified' in selected countries.
METHODS: We derived the proportions of 'unspecified' uterine cancers for 20 selected high- and middle-income countries with reliable death certification over the period 1994-2021, using official mortality data from the WHO database coded according to the 10th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases.

The purpose of this study was to estimate cancer survival in Poland between 2000 and 2019 for malignant neoplasms of female genital organs (FGO). We calculated survival in cancer of vulva, vagina, cervix uteri, corpus uteri, ovary, and other unspecified female genital organs. Data were obtained from the Polish National Cancer Registry. We estimated age-standardized 5- and 10-year net survival (NS) with the life table method and the Pohar-Perme estimator using the International Cancer Survival Standard weights. Overall, 231,925 FGO cancer cases were included in the study. The overall FGO age-st

INTRODUCTION: The incidence of and mortality from cancers of the cervix uteri and corpus uteri are underestimated if the presence of uterine cancers, where the exact topography (site of origin) is not specified, is omitted. In this paper we present the corrected figures on mortality from and incidence of cervix and corpus uteri cancers in the Nordic countries by reallocating unspecified uterine cancer deaths and cases to originate either from the corpus uteri or cervix uteri. To further validate the accuracy of reallocation, we also analyzed how well the reallocation captures the changes occur

BACKGROUND: The increasing aging population has been posing a significant challenge to disease burden in developing countries. In particular, the contribution of population aging to and long term changes of disease burden of malignant neoplasm of female genital organs (MNFGO) have not been quantitatively demonstrated.
METHODS: Data were collected from the Shanghai Vital Statistics System of Pudong New Area (PNA). Crude mortality rate (CMR), age-standardized mortality rate by Segi's world standard population (ASMRW), and years of life lost (YLL) of MNFGO as the underlying cause of death in age

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: To estimate the temporal trend of the cervical cancer mortality rates among Autonomous Communities (AACC) in Spain.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Individual death cases recorded as "cervical cancer', 'corpus uteri cancer' and 'uterus, site unspecified' -codes 180,182 and 179 in ICD8 and 9 and codes C53, C54 and C55 in ICD 10- were obtained, as well as women population estimates broken down by age and AACC from the Spanish National Institute for Statistics (INE). To correct distortions due to increasing improvement in death certification, deaths from 'uterus, site unspecifie

AIMS AND BACKGROUND: This report provides data and statistics for cancer mortality in Italy in 2003, updating previous work on the issue.
METHODS: Cancer death certification numbers by cause and estimates of the resident population in 2003, stratified by sex and quinquennium of age, were obtained from the World Health Organization database. In 2003, cause of death encoding was changed from the 9th to the 10th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). All cancers and groups of cancers, classified according to the 10th revision of the ICD, were grouped into 30 categories,

Reports of uterine cancer deaths that do not specify the subsite of the tumor threaten the quality of the epidemiologic appraisal of corpus and cervix uteri cancer mortality. The present study assessed the impact of correcting the estimated corpus and cervix uteri cancer mortality in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The epidemiologic assessment of death rates comprised the estimation of magnitudes, trends (1980-2003), and area-level distribution based on three strategies: i) using uncorrected death certificate information; ii) correcting estimates of corpus and cervix uteri mortality by fully re

Analysing time trends in mortality from cancers of the cervix and corpus uteri using routine data sources (such as the World Health Organisation mortality database) involves two major problems: deaths certified as "uterus, unspecified site", and the presence of a combined category comprising unspecified and corpus uteri cancer deaths. To avoid misleading interpretations, the unspecified and the misclassified data must be incorporated into the analysis to produce rates that allow meaningful comparisons between populations and over time. Reallocation methods based on age- and time-specific distr

We investigated the evolution of mortality from cervical cancer in Belgium between 1954 and 1994 in terms of absolute number of deaths, and standardised and age-specific mortality rates. Changes over generations were summarised using the standardised cohort mortality ratio. Trend studies of cervical cancer mortality were hampered by certification problems. The number of deaths due to cancer of the uterine cervix is not known exactly since a substantial proportion of death causes are coded as cancer of the uterus without specifying the anatomic site: cervix or corpus uteri. This inaccuracy in c

In the French administrative "departement" of Côte-d'Or, between 1982 and 1990, the crude incidence rate and the age-adjusted world standardised incidence rate (ASR) for corpus uteri cancer were respectively 16.0 +/- 0.8 and 10.7 +/- 0.6 per 100,000 women per year. The incidence increased after 50 years of age, reaching a maximum of 66.7 per 100,000 women per year at the age of 70-74 and thereafter declined. Ninety-six percent of the patients were older than 50. The 5- and 10-year crude survival rates (all histologic types) were 66 +/- 3% and 61 +/- 4%. The 5- and 10-year relative survival rat

In Florence between 1985 and 1987 two hundred twenty eight women deceased for uterine cancer (ICD-9 code 179, 180, 182); for 79.4% of these the diagnosis reported on the death certificate was "unspecified" cancer of the uterus. Death certificates were cross-checked with the Tuscany Cancer Registry files, with clinical records and with other sanitary archives with the aim of identifying the specific cancer site (cervix/corpus). All deaths before the age 45 were attributed to cervical cancer, but these only represented 6.6% of all subjects deceased for this neoplasia. Age adjusted mortality rate

In the Federal Republic in 1952 5204 cases of death by cancer of the uterus were officially reported, i.e. 20.2 per 100,000. Up to 1985, after an increase to 1967, the figures constantly have decreased to 4706 and 14.8 respectively. Of all cancer deaths in 1952 11.1 percent were that of the uterus, in 1985 only 5.8 percent. The evaluation is hampered by the existence of different statistical groups, particularly by that for cases with unspecified site. In 1985 this groups still comprised 33.7 percent of all registered cases of death by uterine cancer. But irrespectively of this special problem

The files of the Childhood Cancer Research Group ( CCRG ) and of the Oxford Survey of Childhood Cancers ( OSCC ) were scrutinized for all malignant genital neoplasms other than ovarian tumor registered in England, Scotland, and Wales in the period 1962 to 1978. After a review of the records and of the available pathologic reports, a total of 55 cases were confirmed, indicating an average incidence of about 0.5 cases per million female children per year, with no obvious trend over the study period. These included 9 (16.4%) cases originating from the vulva, 28 (50.9%) from the vagina, 3 (5.5%) f

Uterine cancer ranks third in cancer incidence and fifth in cancer mortality among American women. The epidemiologic characteristics of cancer of the cervix uteri and the corpus uteri are different. When only "cancer of the uterus, not otherwise specified (NOS)" is reported, problems arise in data analysis. In this study, uterine cancer deaths from the National Cancer Institute's Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program, 1977-79, are compared with those from three previous studies. Uterine cancer deaths certified only as uterus, NOS, on death certificates have decreased 34 percent i
