Malignant melanoma (MM) arising primarily in the cervix is exceedingly rare and has a poor prognosis. We report the case of a primary MM of the cervix in a 64-year-old woman with vaginal bleeding. She presented with a cervical amelanotic lesion which on biopsy rendered the diagnosis of MM. BACKGROUND: High risk human papillomavirus (HR HPV) infects cells at the squamocolumnar junction (SCJ) of the cervix, causing cancer. Cytokeratin (CK)7 is an SCJ marker, and stains cervical neoplasia. CK19 is a binding partner of CK7 and expressed in cervical cancer. OBJECTIVES: Stratified mucin-producing intraepithelial lesion (SMILE) is an uncommon premalignant lesion of the uterine cervix. A detailed examination of preinvasive SMILE cases including a comparison of the cytologic features with usual-type adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) and human papillomavirus (HPV) genotyping was performed.
STUDY DESIGN: Excisions and preceding Papanicolaou (Pap) tests were retrieved from the files of 2 tertiary care centers. Histologic review estimated the lesional SMILE proportion. Pap tests were reviewed and assessed for architectural, cellular and background features.

INTRODUCTION: Ewing's sarcoma belongs to a spectrum of neoplastic diseases known as Ewing's family of tumors. This family of tumors is usually seen in osseous sites. Ewing's sarcoma of the cervix is extremely rare, with only 18 cases reported in the English literature. The immunohistochemical profile of Ewing's sarcoma overlaps with other malignancies like small cell carcinoma. The rarity and complex pathologic picture of Ewing's sarcoma of the cervix creates the potential for misdiagnosis. Hence, we believe this case needs to be reported to add to the available literature.

Papillary cystadenoma is an uncommon epithelial tumor, originating within the head of the epididymis and broad ligament. When the lesion is bilateral, it is associated with von Hippel-Lindau disease. OBJECTIVE: The fallopian tube is now recognized as a primary source of precursor neoplastic lesions for pelvic serous adenocarcinomas. Cytologic features of fallopian tube brushings from low-risk patients have not been well described.

This case report describes a tubulosquamous polyp resembling a penis in the uterine cervix. A 34-yr-old, gravida 0, para 0, woman showed an 18 × 8 × 5 mm polypoid lesion in the uterine ectocervix.
