Müllerianosis is a rare benign lesion of the urinary bladder, which is constituted by two or more of the Müllerian-duct-derived tissues. We report a 45-year-old perimenopausal multiparous woman presenting with occasional episodes of dysuria and lower abdominal discomfort of recent duration. Ultrasound examination revealed a well-defined lesion in urinary bladder and the absence of left kidney. Contrast-enhanced CT of the abdomen confirmed the findings. BACKGROUND: Bladder cancer (BC) is a common and deadly disease. Over the past decade, a number of genetic alterations have been reported in BC. Bladder urothelium expresses abundant urea transporter UT-B encoded by Slc14a1 gene at 18q12.3 locus, which plays an important role in preventing high concentrated urea-caused cell injury. Early genome-wide association studies (GWAS) showed that UT-B gene mutations are genetically linked to the urothelial bladder carcinoma (UBC). In this study, we examined whether Slc14a1 gene has been changed in UBC, which has never been reported.

Mullerian abnormalities such as uterine didelphys have an association with renal abnormalities. Ureteric ectopia must be considered as a differential diagnosis of incontinence. We describe the case of a 21-year-old woman who presented with low volume continuous incontinence with a history of right renal agenesis and uterus didelphys. A right kidney was not identified on CT intravenous pyelogram but excretory phase images suggested the presence of a right ureter. Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid renogram confirmed an area of perfusion consistent with a poorly functioning right kidney remnant.
