Objective In this report we present a rare case of a large cyst of Skene gland in a female patient with a palpable vaginal mass persisting for at least 2 years. Case Report A 67-year-old female admitted to the department of urology due to the presence of "a vaginal mass" for the past 2 years. Skene's gland is homologous to the male prostate and can secrete prostate fluid. However, Skene's gland carcinoma is extremely rare, with only 20 cases reported in the literature thus far. We report the first case of adenosquamous carcinoma of Skene's gland. The patient was a 54-year-old woman who was admitted to our hospital due to vaginal bleeding and a vaginal mass, accompanied by multiple lymph nodes and vulvar metastases. Adenocarcinoma of the paraurethral gland is a rare tumour with no published prevalence in male patients. This report presents a case of bulbourethral gland adenocarcinoma in a 25-year-old man without comorbidities. After resection of the proximal urethra, sphincter and prostate, Mitrofanoff-type appendicovesicostomy was performed. INTRODUCTION: The female prostate (paraurethral glands) is a well-known, yet poorly understood, anatomic structure. Imaging studies of the female prostate, its physiology, and pathologies are still highly controversial.
AIM: To study the anatomy of the female prostate with contemporary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques and correlate these findings to clinical features.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Female prostate pathologic anatomy on MRI.
METHODS: Women with clinical signs of function (or dysfunction) of paraurethral glands have been examined with 1.5 or 3 Tesla MRI and urethroscopy.

An autopsy case of adenocarcinoma of Skene's paraurethral gland co-incident with renal cell carcinoma is described. The adenocarcinoma showed distinct prostate specific antigen and prostate specific acid phosphatase pointing to the equivalence between the male prostate and Skene's paraurethral glands and ducts. Skene's gland are the homologue of the prostate in females and tumours arising from them are immunohistochemically similar to male prostate carcinoma.
