PURPOSE: To describe the history, clinical features, and outcomes of a large case series of microsporidial stromal keratitis with emphasis on probable predictors of the etiology in this rare and unspecified form of keratitis.
METHODS: Retrospective analysis of cases seen between January, 2002, and December, 2013, diagnosed at LV Prasad Eye Institute as having microsporidial stromal keratitis based on clinical, microbiology, and histopathology examination. BACKGROUND: Increasing incidence of head and neck cancer (HNC) in young adults has been reported. We aimed to compare the role of major risk factors and family history of cancer in HNC in young adults and older patients.
METHODS: We pooled data from 25 case-control studies and conducted separate analyses for adults ≤ 45 years old ('young adults', 2010 cases and 4042 controls) and >45 years old ('older adults', 17700 cases and 22 704 controls). Using logistic regression with studies treated as random effects, we estimated adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).

We conducted a review to provide an update on the efficacy of psychological treatments for OCD in general and with regard to specific symptom presentations. The PubMed and PsycINFO databases were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published up to mid February 2012. Forty-five such studies were identified. OBJECTIVE: A presentation of the clinical and pathogenic aspects of choroidal ossification.
CASES PRESENTATION: We report three clinical cases of choroidal ossification: choroidal osteoma, ossified choroidal hemangioma and total ossification of the choroid. The three patients underwent complete eye examination. The optical microscopy of a sample of ossified choroidal tissue revealed a spongy, osseous structure consisting of circular osseous lamellae, osteocytes, canaliculi and adipose tissue with microfoci of calcification.
