Molecular genetic techniques have become an integral part of the diagnostic assessment for many lymphomas and other chronic lymphoid neoplasms. The frequency of various subtypes of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) differs in various regions worldwide. We studied distribution of various subtypes of NHL by using WHO classification of lymphoid neoplasms (2000), immunophenotyping and clinicopathologic characteristics of various histologic subtypes in 935 cases. Bcl2 is an important protein involved in the pathogenesis of follicular lymphoma (FL). However, approximately 10% of FL cases do not express Bcl2.
