Beyond the Battlefield: Lymphoma Outcomes in Post-9/11 Service Members and Veterans.

Background: Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is the most common hematologic malignancy among U.S. military service members (SMs), yet the impact of deployment and deployment-related factors on survival remains unclear. Modern military service involves potential exposure to environmental hazards and trauma that could plausibly influence lymphoma biology, treatment tolerance, or long-term outcomes. Methods: Tricare beneficiaries with NHL diagnosed between 2001 and 2022 were identified from the Defense Health Agency Cancer Registry. Deployment history, demographics, lymphoma subtype, and mortality data

Epstein-Barr virus antibodies and risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma: a pooled analysis of four prospective cohorts.

Non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHLs) are among the most common cancers in the US, yet their etiology is mostly unknown. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a known driver of rare NHLs, but its role in common subtypes is unclear. We evaluated associations between antibodies to 16 EBV antigens, including 12 emerging markers (anti-: BARF1, BBRF1, BFRF1, BGLF2, BHRF1, BORF1, BPLF1, BRLF1, BXLF1, LF2, LMP1, VCAp40) and NHL risk in prediagnostic blood samples from 2134 case-control sets from 4 prospective cohort studies. Conditional logistic regression estimated odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).

[Diagnostic approach to non-cutaneous T-cell lymphomas in 2025: What pitfalls and how should they be classified?].

Peripheral T-cell lymphomas are a heterogeneous group of neoplasms derived from mature T or NK lymphocytes. With the exception of primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, these lymphomas are rare (<7% of lymphomas in France). Peripheral T-cell lymphomas derived from follicular helper T cells (TFH) account for more than 40% of cases. TFH lymphoma has numerous diagnostic pitfalls, including classical Hodgkin lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and marginal zone lymphoma, which are attributable to the "follicular T helper" function of the tumor cells. Anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCL) are cl

CD70 Overexpression at Diagnosis Predicts Relapse and supports dual CD19-CD70 CAR-T Therapy in Follicular Lymphoma.

Although first-line immunotherapy achieves remission in most patients with follicular lymphoma (FL), improved biomarkers and therapeutic strategies are required to identify and manage those who relapse. We investigated the immune microenvironment at diagnosis in uniformly treated FL patients with extended follow-up (>11 years), comparing relapsed and relapse-free cases. Transcriptomic profiling revealed enrichment of inflammatory response pathways in relapsed patients, including cytokine overexpression and upregulation of CD70, a molecule implicated in immune activation and inflammation. Genetically Predicted Gut Microbiota and Lymphoma Risk: A Mendelian Randomization Study.

INTRODUCTION: Growing evidence links gut microbiota (GM) to hematological malignancies; however, its role in lymphoma remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the potential causal relationships between genetically predicted gut microbial taxa and lymphoma subtypes using a Mendelian randomization (MR) framework. METHODS: Using genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data for 211 gut microbial taxa and 10 lymphoma subtypes, we performed bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) and sensitivity analyses to assess causality. Reverse MR was also used to evaluate reverse causation. St

A distinct CAR-T cell phenotype mediates therapeutic response at limited doses.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies are typically administered at high doses to maximize durable clinical responses. However, manufacturing constraints can limit the production of sufficient cells to achieve the intended dose. Although some patients experience durable responses after receiving lower CAR-T cell doses, the mechanisms underlying efficacy at these limited cell numbers remain poorly understood. To address this, we performed deep phenotyping of anti-CD19 CAR-T cell products and their corresponding leukapheresis starting materials from a phase I/II dose-escalation trial.

Early Follicular Lymphoma Grading via PET-CT Fusion and Bayesian Deep Learning.

Accurate grading of follicular lymphoma (FL) is crucial for personalized treatment, but biopsy-based histopathology is invasive and limited by observer variability. To address these limits, we present an artificial intelligence framework for physician-guided assisted FL grading using PET-CT imaging. Our approach integrates an enhanced dual-discriminator conditional GAN (DDCGAN) featuring similarity and chrominance constraints to generate task-specific fused images with preserved metabolic-structural cues. Furthermore, a Bayesian ResNet is introduced to explicitly model predictive uncertainty,

Case Report: Dermoscopic and pathologic features of primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma involving the nasal ala.

BACKGROUND: Primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma (PCFCL) is a rare, indolent B-cell lymphoma that typically presents as asymptomatic lesions on the scalp, forehead, or trunk, with disease confined to the skin. Involvement of the nasal region is highly uncommon and prone to misdiagnosis because of its nonspecific clinical features. CASE DESCRIPTION: An 84-year-old woman presented with a collection of asymptomatic, firm, agminated papules on the left nasal ala, first noted about 2 years prior. At dermoscopy, the lesions presented fine, linear, irregular vessels on a salmon-colored backgro

Tumoral immune microenvironment profiling in B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma stratifies patients in different prognostic groups.

BACKGROUND: Non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) represent a heterogeneous group of B-cell-derived malignancies. Previous studies showed that tumor immune microenvironment (TIM) components are associated with tumor development and progression. Furthermore, recent transcriptomic analyses revealed that TIM status can stratify patients into distinct prognostic groups; however, these insights are not clinically exploited. METHODS: We characterized the TIM of 64 NHL biopsies and 16 reactive lymphoid tissues (rLT) controls using multi-parameter flow cytometry, including major subpopulations, T-cell subsets
