OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the diagnostic and staging value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in solitary malignant tumors of the spleen (SMTS).
METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed clinical data, 18F-FDG PET/CT and contrast-enhanced CT findings from 25 pathologically confirmed SMTS cases. The PET/CT characteristics including lesion distribution, accompanying signs, maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), and pathological types were analyzed, with comparison of diagnostic and staging efficacy between PET/CT and contrast-enhanced CT.

BACKGROUND: Lymphoma, including both Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin types, is the fourth most common cancer in Malaysia. Few large studies have examined the frequencies and patterns of occurrence. This study describes the epidemiology of lymphoma in Malaysia based on cases from a public hospital, and compares demographic characteristics, distribution, subtypes, and anatomical sites.
METHODS: This retrospective study was conducted at Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar, Seremban, Malaysia. Admitted patients who had received medical or surgical treatment for lymphoma between 2015 and 2022 were reviewed.

Numerous immunohistochemistry markers and molecular studies are essential to determine lymphoma diagnosis and prognosis.
