In a retrospective study of 301 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma patients the clinical and prognostic value of the classification of Lukes and Collins was studied. A slight majority of the cases were of the follicular center cell types. Stages III-IV were found in 46% of the entire group at the time of diagnosis. The lymphomas showing follicular center cell types were frequently localized (63%). About 65% of all cases survived one year and about 45% five years. The females showed a better survival. Thirteen lymphomas consisting of one particular cell type were selected from 135 cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Clinical and histopathologic findings were reviewed in 57 cases in which there had been a diagnosis or suspicion of malignant lymphoma in the skin other than mycosis fungoides. Patients were included only if 1) extracutaneous tissue satisfactory for lymphoma classification was available, or 2) there was no evidence of extracutaneous involvement after a minimum of five years. A series of 226 patients with Stages I and II non-Hodgkin's lymphomata, treated with intensive irradiation to the involved regions, were studied using the Lukes-Collins classification. A total of 242 cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma arising primarily in lymph nodes are reported. Lymph nodes have been classified histologically and the incidence of sclerosis in each group assessed. Two types of fibrosis were found, one composed of fibrous bands from 10 mum to several hundred mum thick within the node and invaded perinodal tissue. A clinico-pathological study of malignant lymphoma in Jamaica was undertaken to examine the disease pattern in a predominantly negro population of West African origin. During a 9-year period (1958-66) 260 histologically verified cases of malignant lymphoma were encountered. The distribution of the different histological types was as follows: Hodgkin's disease 50.9%, lymphosarcoma 33%, reticulum cell sarcoma 14.2%, giant follicular lymphoma 1.9%.
