The EUROCLUS project included information on residence at diagnosis for 13351 cases of childhood leukaemia diagnosed in the period 1980-89 in defined geographical regions in 17 countries. Beta 7 integrins serve special roles in mucosal immunity. We report our observations with the cell line LW/SO, which was recently derived from the bone marrow of a patient with acute myeloid leukemia. Based on the morphological and histochemical examination, the leukemic cells were classified primarily as FAB type M4. A number of homeodomain proteins have been shown to regulate cellular development by stimulating the transcription of specific target genes.
