Heat-shock protein-90 (HSP90) inhibitors are currently being used in phase I clinical trials for treating patients with a variety of neoplasms including lymphomas. Using immunohistochemical methods, we assessed for HSP90 expression in 412 cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. UNLABELLED: Purpose of the work was the analysis of the number and structure of leukemia in children living in the Lublin Region of Poland. The study included the population of children aged 0-17 in the years 1988-2000. Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) are a biologically diverse and uncommon group of diseases. Compared to their B-cell counterparts, PTCLs remain largely unexplored and the optimal treatment ill-defined due to disease rarity and biological heterogeneity. For the majority of PTCL subtypes, prognosis is poor with a 5-year overall survival of approximately 30% in most series.The notable exception is ALK-positive anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (ALK-pos ALCL), which has a superior outcome. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this retrospective cohort study is to update mortality experience at refinery/petrochemical plant facilities in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Baytown, Texas.
METHODS: Standardized mortality ratios (SMRs) were calculated for 1970-1997 based on death rates in the respective states.
