Case Report: lipoblastoma-like tumor of the tongue.

Lipoblastoma-like tumor (LLT) is a distinctive adipocytic neoplasm most commonly arising in the vulva of women. Lingual involvement is extremely rare. Herein, we present a case of LLT occurring in the tongue and review the relevant literature. The patient was a 41-year-old female who presented with a mass on the right lateral border of the tongue for 6 months. Microscopic examination revealed the typical features of LLT. Immunohistochemically, the tumor was positive for CD34 and vimentin, with partial positivity for CDK4 and S-100, and negative for Rb, p16, and MDM2. Fluorescence in situ hybri

Case Report: Successful treatment of verruciform acanthotic vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia with 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy.

Verruciform acanthotic vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (vaVIN) is a rare, human papillomavirus (HPV)-independent, p53 wild-type intraepithelial precursor of the vulva, and standardized therapies for this disease are currently lacking. We report the case of a 68-year-old woman who presented with a 2-year history of multiple warty papules and vulvar pruritus and was diagnosed with vaVIN on the basis of histopathology (verruciform acanthosis with compact orthokeratosis, hypogranulosis, and superficial keratinocyte pallor with minimal cytologic atypia) and immunohistochemistry (HPV negativity, a

Extensive vulvar and perianal langerhans cell histiocytosis with clinical improvement during low-dose thalidomide and topical therapy: a case report.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) involving the female genital region is uncommon and can closely resemble chronic inflammatory, infectious, or neoplastic vulvar diseases. We report a case of a 35-year-old woman with a 6-month history of recurrent painful brownish-red plaques, nodules, erosions, and ulcerations that began in the perianal region and subsequently extended to the vulva. Topical fusidic acid only provided temporary symptomatic relief. Histopathological examination revealed epidermal erosion and crusting, acanthosis, elongated rete ridges, and a dense dermal and subcutaneous infi

Penile curvature surgery in contemporary practice: effectiveness, satisfaction, and complications after corporoplasty in a tertiary referral center.

PURPOSE: Penile curvature due to Peyronie's disease (PD) or congenital penile curvature (CPC) may impair sexual function and quality of life. We aimed to evaluate effectiveness, safety, and patient satisfaction after corporoplasty at a tertiary referral center. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed 324 men undergoing corporoplasty between 2020 and 2025. Patients were stratified according to curvature etiology (PD vs. CPC) and surgical technique (16-dot plication, Yachia, modified Nesbit, Surgisis grafting). Curvature severity was assessed during pharmacologically induced erection and classifie

Clinical and Diagnostic Insights into Penile Angiolymphoid Hyperplasia with Eosinophilia Based on a Case and Analysis of Previous Literature.

Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) is a rare, benign vascular proliferation of unknown origin. It typically occurs in the head and neck region, but can occasionally manifest in unusual locations, such as the penis. Herein, we report a case of ALHE in a 46-year-old HIV-infected male presenting with multiple pruritic whitish nodules on the penile shaft with a size ranging from 0.5 × 0.5 × 0.1 cm to 1.1 × 0.6 × 0.2 cm, initially suspected to be nodular condyloma lata. However, negative serological syphilis test results excluded this initial diagnosis. Histopathological findings we

Machine Learning Models Combining [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET Radiomics and Clinical Features to Predict Overall Survival for Metastatic Castration-resistant Prostate Cancer Treated with [177Lu]Lu-PSMA Radioligand Therapy.

PURPOSE: Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) remains incurable despite recent therapeutic advances. [177Lu]Lu-PSMA RLT (lutetium-177 labelled prostate-specific membrane antigen radioligand therapy) provides meaningful clinical benefit in selected patients. However, ∼30% of the patients do not respond to [177Lu]Lu-PSMA RLT. Although several baseline prognostic factors are well known, reliable pretherapeutic predictive biomarkers are still lacking. We developed and compared several predictive machine learning (ML) models integrating clinical, biochemical, and imaging data, in

Development and Initial Validation of a Statistical Image Analysis Framework for Quantitative Bone SPECT/CT in Patients with Prostate Cancer.

Background/Objectives: Quantitative bone single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) enables standardized uptake value (SUV)-based assessment of skeletal tracer uptake; however, SUV does not directly indicate the degree of deviation from the physiological distribution at the corresponding anatomical location. This study aimed to develop a statistical image analysis software framework for quantitative bone SPECT/CT and perform its initial validation. Methods: Eighty-one male patients who underwent quantitative bone SPECT/CT for suspected bone metastases from prosta

Geographic disparities and temporal trends in aggressive prostate cancer: a SEER population-based analysis (2004-2022).

PURPOSE: Prostate cancer burden may be amplified in rural regions or Appalachia areas, where access to screening and healthcare may be limited. This study examined geographic disparities and temporal trends in aggressive and metastatic prostate cancer across four groups defined by rurality and Appalachian status, while assessing assessed racial differences. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) including newly diagnosed prostate cancer men aged ≥40 years (2004-2022). Age-adjusted incidences of more aggressive and metastatic ca

A novel multiplex digital PCR assay for simultaneous quantification of androgen receptor amplification, mutations, and splice variants in cell-free nucleic acids from metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.

Somatic androgen receptor (AR) alterations including gene amplification, point mutations, and the AR-V7 splice variant occur in 50-70% of patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) and drive resistance to AR-pathway inhibitors (ARPIs) in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). However, current liquid biopsy approaches typically require separate cell-free DNA (cfDNA) and cfRNA workflows to evaluate these distinct alteration classes, increasing sample input requirements, assay complexity, and cost. Because plasma cell-free nucleic acid yield is often l

Age Does Not Independently Predict Biochemical Recurrence in Prostate Cancer Following Radical Prostatectomy: A Comparative Analysis of 4223 pT2N0R0 Patients.

BACKGROUND: Whether younger age independently predicts biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy (RP) remains controversial because previous studies have included heterogeneous pathological stages and treatment populations. We aimed to determine whether age independently predicts BCR following RP in patients with organ-confined, node-negative, margin-negative (pT2N0R0) prostate cancer. METHODS: We performed a retrospective multicenter cohort study of 4223 patients with pT2N0R0 prostate cancer treated with RP. Patients were stratified into ≤ 55 years (n = 875; including 223 aged
