More aggressiveness in treatment of childhood malignancies has had an evident impact on survival and rate of cure but, it has also allowed us to discover long-term effects of these treatments, and second malignant tumors of them. In the first report of Bedouin Arabs with tumoral calcinosis, three Saudi Arabian male siblings and their female first cousin with the condition are described. A modified Neer acromioplasty, subacromial decompression, and débridement of massive, irreparable lesions of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons was performed in fifty-seven patients. The scapular flap network is unsurpassed in versatility in its application to head and neck reconstructive problems. OBJECTIVE: To discuss the clinical presentation of metastases in the scapula and/or humerus resulting from renal cell carcinoma and the courses of treatment available.
PATIENTS: A series of 35 patients with humeral or scapular metastases from renal cell carcinoma, treated at The Norwegian Radium Hospital (NRH) during an 11-year period, is reviewed. Two case reports are examined in detail.
RESULTS: The median survival was 12 months (range 1-88) from the time of diagnosis of metastasis. Three patients lived for more than 50 months.

En bloc resection of the shoulder girdle (Tikhoff-Linberg procedure) is a valuable limb-sparing surgical technique for bony and soft tissue malignant tumor in and around the proximal humerus and shoulder girdle. We dissected 105 cadaveric shoulders to study the origin of the tendon of the long head of biceps, and examined histologically the interrelationship between the tendon, the supraglenoid tubercle and the superior labrum of the glenoid.
