Multiple connective tissue nevi in linear arrangements, which was previously described as zosteriform connective tissue nevus, is a rare variant of connective tissue nevus. Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) typically occurs in the abdomen but may also present at other sites. We report six cases of paratesticular DSRCT. The patients, who ranged in age from 17 to 37 (mean, 28) years, presented with a scrotal mass (five cases) or testicular pain (one case). Grossly, the tumors were white to tan and firm. We report 2 patients with paraspinous sarcoma treated with omental transposition tunneled through a defect in the lumbar fascia that resurfaced in the soft tissues of the lower back. Traditional reconstruction with skin flaps was unsatisfactory because of prior irradiation to the area. Until April 1981 malignant soft tissue sarcomas were registered from 238 patients. Rhabdomyosarcoma was the most common tumor (115/238 = 48.3%). The embryonal subtype was predominantly seen among the rhabdomyosarcomas (83/115 = 72.2%). The greater omentum is good plastic material and supplies richly vascularized connective tissue for transplants. Some superficial and deep lesions of the soft tissues require extensive excision, and in favorable cases it is possible to use the greater omentum pedicled as described by Kiricuta.
