The present study investigated the estrogenic specificity of the modulation of dopamine D(2) and D(3) receptors by comparing the effects of estradiol with tamoxifen or raloxifene. These compounds have estrogenic and/or antiestrogenic activity depending on the target tissue. Polyploidization of the extravillous trophoblast (EVT) cells at different stages of differentiation and invasion into the uterine wall in human placenta has been studied. An increase in the ploidy level of EVT cells in the course of their differentiation within cell columns (CC) was shown. In a series of three experiments, 64 jirds, Meriones unguiculatus, were infected with 700 infective larvae of Trichostrongylus colubriformis for the study of several biological parameters of this laboratory host-parasite model.
