The female gubernaculum is an embryonic structure that gives rise to the uterine round ligament and seems to be important in Müllerian development. In the absence of androgens and anti-Müllerian hormone, the paramesonephric or Müllerian ducts complete their invagination and development, interfering with the connection of the tissue column that begins at the inguinal cone (the gubernaculum) and targets the mesonephric duct and caudal ligament of the gonad. BACKGROUND: Although ectopic pregnancies, nonviable missed abortions or blighted ova may occur subsequent to female sterilization, intrauterine pregnancy has not been reported. The sterilization failure risk persists for years after the procedure and varies by operator technique, method of tubal occlusion and female age.
CASE: A viable, 8-week intrauterine pregnancy developed in a 36-year-old woman, gravidity 3, parity 2, five years after laparoscopic tubal sterilization.
CONCLUSION: The possible mechanisms for a pregnancy after tubal sterilization may be spontaneous reanastomosis or fistula

We present a 69-year-old woman with a chief complaint of postmenopausal bleeding. She was diagnosed as having an endometrioid adenocarcinoma by biopsy, and underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy. A 12-year-old girl presented with a "threadlike fiber" in her underwear associated with lower abdominal pain. She denied insertion of any foreign body, and at examination under anesthetic, a threadlike substance was seen exiting her external cervical os. Her only medical history was of an open appendicectomy for perforated appendicitis. Subsequent pathologic examination showed a collapsed mesothelial cyst, and laparoscopy showed a cyst and inflammatory changes consistent with previous appendicectomy surrounding her right ovary. We review the possible causes for this most unusual presentation.

An inguinal hernia containing an ovary, fallopian tube, and uterus is an extremely rare occurrence in a woman of reproductive age. We herein report a case of a uterine horn from a bicornuate uterus, left ovarian ligament, and partially left fallopian tube within the left inguinal sac and canal diagnosed through laparoscopy in a 23-year-old female who is infertile.

A unique case of fallopian tube herniation into the endometrial cavity after dilatation and curettage is presented. A 28-year-old patient who had secondary infertility for 2 years following dilatation and curettage without any other specific complaint was evaluated by laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. During these procedures, herniation of the right tube and infundibulopelvic ligament into the uterine cavity were observed. The herniation was repaired through a minilaparotomy incision.

Isolated torsion of the fallopian tube without ovarian involvement and associated pathology is a rare event. We report an 18-year-old single female who presented with acute lower abdominal pain during menstruation after a minor trauma of the pelvis. Paratubal cysts rarely undergo torsion. When they do, typically they involve the infundibulopelvic ligament and affect the ovary and fallopian tube. Adenomyoma is a benign tumor composed of smooth muscle and benign endometrium. These tumors typically originate within the uterus. An extrauterine adenomyoma is a rare entity. We report a uterine-like mass consistent with an extrauterine adenomyoma presenting 22 years following a total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.
