BACKGROUND: Surgical ablations of eyelid tumors, trauma, and burns, which encroach on the tarsal plate and eyelid margin, often create full-layer eyelid defects. However, the reconstruction of defects with marginal loss presents a challenge for plastic surgeons. In this report, we present a new modified surgical technique using "∏" flaps depending on the arterial arch of the palpebral margin to reconstruct eyelid defects with minimal loss.

Ectopic lacrimal glands, also known as lacrimal gland choristomas, are seen in various areas of the eyes and are characterized by their placement outside of their typical anatomical position. While tarsal lacrimal gland choristomas are uncommon, the bulbar conjunctiva and limbal area have been identified as the most frequent sites. Herein, we report a 32-year-old female with a mass on the left lower eyelid conjunctiva that is histopathologically proved to be a lacrimal gland choristoma.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to investigate the differences in the immunoreactivity of programmed death ligand (PD-L1) and CD8 in pterygium tissues and normal conjunctival tissues.
METHODS: Forty-two patients diagnosed with primary pterygium were included in the study.
