OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the feasibility and specimen quality of cryobiopsy for ureterorenoscopic (URS) biopsy in suspected upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC).
METHODS: Using a newly developed flexible cryoprobe, a total of 80 biopsies were obtained in 10 consecutive patients with renal pelvis tumors suspicious for UTUC (cryobiopsy, n = 28; forceps, n = 28; basket, n = 24). The primary endpoint was the diagnostic yield of cryobiopsy; secondary endpoints included comparison with standard instruments, feasibility, safety, and specimen quality.

Giant hydronephrosis extending beyond the midline can cause marked dilatation of the renal pelvis and significant anatomical distortion. INTRODUCTION: Giant hydronephrosis is defined as having 1.5 L or 1.6% of body weight of fluid in the renal pelvis. In the exception of a few, the preponderance of giant hydronephrosis is attributable to congenital anomalies, mostly pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction (PUJO). Chyluria is a rare condition characterized by the presence of milky urine caused by lymphatic leakage into the urinary tract. A 78-year-old man presented with milky urine and was found to have 3+proteinuria on urinalysis.
