OBJECT: Infrasellar craniopharyngioma (IC) is a rare tumor. This study aimed to investigate the clinical manifestations, treatment methods, and prognosis of IC, which invades the cranial base, nasal sinuses, nasopharynx and clivus.

To determine the prevalence of pituitary hormone deficiencies after moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI). We conducted a prospective cohort and included 75 patients with moderate TBI with GCS between 9 and 13 who referred to emergency department of Shariati Hospital, Tehran/Iran, during 2004-2007. A case is presented of a 59-year-old male patient with a 5-year history of sarcoidosis. In the last half a year, deterioration of his intellectual abilities was noticed. Psychological testing detected a mild cognitive disorder. Laboratory diagnostics found a decreased level of testosterone and magnetic resonance imaging showed pituitary stalk neurosarcoidosis without any other pathomorphological substrate of cognitive impairment. OBJECTIVE: To analyze surgical outcomes in 90 patients with craniopharyngioma treated by standard transsphenoidal surgery (TSS) or extended transsphenoidal surgery (eTSS).
METHODS: From 1990-2008, 90 patients (64 adults and 26 children) underwent TSS for craniopharyngioma (34 subdiaphragmatic and 56 supradiaphragmatic). TSS was performed as the initial surgery in 62 patients and as the second procedure in 28 patients.
