Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified numerous genetic variants associated with cancer susceptibility. However, over 90% of participants are of European ancestry, limiting the applicability to highly admixed groups such as Brazilians. Herein, we report a rare case of pancreatic metastasis originating from a malignant phyllodes tumor of the breast. A 45-year-old woman initially underwent a partial mastectomy for malignant phyllodes tumor of the left breast, followed by a total mastectomy for local recurrence. INTRODUCTION: Switching from reference biologics to biosimilars usually occurs for non-medical reasons, such as cost-driven formulary changes. However, despite biosimilars having the same efficacy and similar safety profiles as their reference products, some patients discontinue treatment and 'switchback' to the reference product.

This case report describes a patient who developed Klebsiella pneumoniae infection and endogenous endophthalmitis following total pancreatectomy with duodenectomy and splenectomy. Despite comprehensive treatment with systemic antibiotics, intravitreal antibiotic injections, and pars plana vitrectomy, the patient's bilateral vision failed to recover. This case highlights the importance of enhancing surgeons' awareness of endogenous endophthalmitis as a rare but severe postoperative complication. Early recognition and timely intervention are crucial for improving patient outcomes.
