Ovarian endocrine function in endometriosis was studied in 19 women before, during, and after treatment with danazol. Striking abnormalities were seen during treatment. Serum estradiol (E2) and testosterone (T) levels increased markedly, while follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and prolactin were unaffected. Direct interference of danazol in the assays for E2 and T was excluded by in vitro experiments. A group of 131 patients with carcinoma of the ovary developed in 16% irregular bleedings. In 9,2% bleeding was caused dysfunctional. 9 of 42 cases (= 21%) showed a significant prolife-ration of the endometrium. The findings are compared with the results of other authors and discussed.

The effects of alloxan-induced diabetes on ovulation and other ovarian responses were investigated in immature rats injected with PMS gonadotropin (PMSG, 15 IU/100 g) on day 30 of age. Rats were killed on day 32 (presumed proestrus) or on day 33, at which time the oviducts were examined for ova. Seven cases with secondary skin carcinomas are described. The primary tumor was located at the tongue, the larynx, the thyroid, the abdomen, the ovaries, the collum uteri and the rectum. From the literature 60 other patients with secundary skin carcinomas and 100 primary carcinomas were evaluated. Clinical evidences for a secundary skin carcinoma are: unusual localization, multiple occurrence and an even surface. It was examined whether the localization of the secundary skin tumor refers to the localization of the primary tumor.

After 15 years of clinical experiences with Clomiphen treatment it seemed desirable to investigate the efficiency of this kind of therapy under routine conditions in a crowded out-patient clinic. 314 patients treated from 1972--1974 have been included in this study. From 242 sterility patients 730 cycles could be followed. 80.2% were ovulatory, but 23.5% had an insufficient luteal phase and 11.9% of these cycles ended with an anovulatory bleeding. One hundred and one patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCO) were treated during an 11-year interval. Sixty-seven cases were classified as typical PCO with enlarged ovaries of probable ovarian origin (Type I) and 34 as atypical PCO of probable adrenal origin (Type II). Fifty-five patients were treated for anovulatory infertility with clomiphene citrate or other endocrine therapy as indicated. The authors administrated the Clomiphene, in different doses, to 8 patients among 27 observed. Reproductive and endocrine function was investigated in 22 women with Hodgkin's disease who had bilateral mid-line oophoropexies performed at staging laparotomy.
