Graves disease is an autoimmune disorder characterized by thyroid enlargement and hyperthyroidism. Thyrotropin receptor (TSHR) autoantibodies bind the TSHR on the membrane of thyroid follicular cells and stimulate cell proliferation and thyroid-hormone synthesis. A case of true thymic hyperplasia (TTH) associated with thymic hemorrhage (TH) was observed in a 22-year-old male patient who presented with persistent cough and thoracic pain due to an anterior mediastinal mass. OBJECTIVE: To report a rare case of metastatic growth hormone (GH)-secreting pituitary carcinoma causing acromegaly.

A mediastinal tumor mass in a 53-year-old woman with the sole complaint of persistent cough was studied and found to be a true thymic hyperplasia associated with a unilocular thymic cyst, felt to be of the congenital type. Estrogen exposure in the neonatal rat has been shown to disrupt the normal morphology and development of the prostate gland. The response to this exposure is manifest in adulthood as epithelial dysplasia and chronic inflammation. Toxicological effects of orally administered azaspiracid (AZA), a new toxin isolated from mussels, were investigated. First, a total of 25 mice were administered AZA twice at 300-450 microg/kg doses and observed for recovery processes from severe injuries. The management and clinical course of patients with myasthenia gravis admitted to a neurological intensive therapy unit (ITU) for thymectomy over a 66 month period were reviewed. There were 53 patients, 20 male and 33 female, mean age 35.2 years (18-74) and median ITU stay of 5 days (2-30).
