Individuals with dissociative disorders (DDs) suffer from high levels of dissociation as well as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and general distress. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to assess the prevalence of dissociative symptoms and post-traumatic experiences in an ambulatory setting.
METHOD: The study was conducted in the ambulatory outpatient clinic of the Beersheva Mental Health Center. Over a period of six months new patients over 18 years of age were asked to participate in this survey. OBJECTIVE: Maltreatment, family violence, and disruption in primary caregiver attachment in childhood may constitute a developmental form of trauma that places children at risk for multiple psychiatric and medical diagnoses that often are refractory to well-established evidence-based mental health treatments. BACKGROUND: Rice straw and husk are globally significant sources of cellulose-rich biomass and there is great interest in converting them to bioethanol. However, rice husk is reportedly much more recalcitrant than rice straw and produces larger quantities of fermentation inhibitors. Four young ketamine abusers with lower urinary tract symptoms presented to regional hospitals in Shenzhen, China. Investigations demonstrated contracted bladders and other urinary tract abnormalities. There have been few reports of similar findings in ketamine abusers in the Chinese mainland.
