A case report is presented of a koro-like syndrome in a 34-year-old Bedouin man living in the Negev desert in Israel. The patient's disturbance is accompanied by voyeurism and the onset appears to be related to his sexual practices. This is the first reported case among Bedouins, who are an Arab nomadic tribe living in Asia and Africa.

The theory of courtship disorder suggests voyeurism, exhibitionism, frotteurism, and preferential rape (a paraphilic preference for coercive sex) are expressions of a common underlying disturbance. The objective of this study is to describe the lifestyle of a group of female prostitutes. The collection of information was achieved by: (i) using a self administered questionnaire; and (ii) conducting conversational type interviews. Of 85 women attending a health care drop-in centre for female street prostitutes in Glasgow, 63 completed the questionnaire and 72 participated in conversational interviews. In this paper, we have described a type of resistance that has attracted increasing psychoanalytic attention in recent years. Patients exposed to intense negativity during early life may develop an addiction to negative experience as adolescents and adults, and this may constitute a central organizing feature of their personality. Three cases are presented in which fluoxetine was employed in the apparently successful treatment of paraphilia, a disorder which has been difficult to treat pharmacologically. Therapeutic benefit may have been related to the efficacy of fluoxetine in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorders or to direct effects on sexual activity, or both.

Sexual histories and arousal patterns of 60 college men were sampled in a rural area to better evaluate the role of sexual arousal in males typically used as nonoffender controls in sex research.
