Interpreting the lesions of victims of sexual violence is one of the most difficult and most controversial areas of forensic medicine. SUMMARY The lesbian sadomasochist exists in the feminist community as doubly other. If she is addressed at all in feminist discourses, she is often accused of wielding the weapons of patriarchy (violence, danger, fear) against all that feminism is. In what follows I will construct a theoretical framework which suggests that lesbian sadomasochism is not antithetical to feminism. In fact, lesbian sadomasochism is, on numerous levels, a response to those things deemed damaging to women.

The role of perverse sexuality as an organizing influence in "multiple personality" is explored in this paper. Following a brief review of psychoanalytic thinking on sexual trauma and perversion, the author discusses his own views on dissociation and "multiple personality." This article describes a small-scale research on homosexual encounters in a Dutch highway rest area called "the Mollebos." To investigate unobtrusively how individuals experience sexual bondage, we analyzed all messages about sexual bondage (N = 514) mailed to an international computerized discussion group on sexual bondage in 1990. An approach to the social construction of concepts of sexual deviance and sexual perversions is considered. Deviance is conceptualized as a problem of control, perversion a problem of desire. These are seen as related to the larger sexual and nonsexual discursive practices of society and given to change as these contextualizing practices change. Nonprostitute women in the sadomasochism (S/M) subculture have been believed to be rare. A sample of 45 women from the S/M subculture of whom 34 were determined to be nonprostitutes was obtained. This sample is compared with a similar sample obtained by Breslow et al. (1985). We propose the addition of four aggressive indices for Rorschach scoring: aggressive content, aggressive potential, aggressive past, and sado-masochism scores. Masochistic phenomena in adults are discussed as derivatives of conscious and/or unconscious fantasies. These masochistic fantasies are always associated with conscious and/or unconscious narcissistic and sadistic fantasies. These fantasies, like all fantasies in adults, are conceived of as compromise formations.
