Features characteristic of the hereditary syndrome of testicular feminization (tfm) were observed in a 7-year-old Quarter Horse. The horse had female body habitus and male psychosexual behaviour. Gonads located in the abdomen were testes and the uterus and cervix were absent. The vagina was normal in depth but ended as a blind pocket. The sex chromosome composition of testicular fibroblast and leucocyte cultures was XY. Construction of a family pedigree revealed a pattern of hereditary transmission similar to that reported for tfm in other mammalian species.

This paper describes seven chromosomal and gonadal females with the adrenogenital syndrome who were born with a penis as a result of extreme fetal androgenization. In this study 19 boys aged 4 through 13 years referred for gender problems were compared with 35 similar-aged boys referred for school problems on variables derived from sets of human figure drawings. This study compared the WAIS IQ and subtest scores of 167 male and 112 female patients of a heterogeneous psychiatric population. A case of transsexualism with homosexuality of Kinsey type 6 is described, in whose maternal kinship were found a large number of persons with various types of sexual abnormalities including one case of probable transsexualism. The pattern of intermarriage produces from generation to generation an increasing number of children with such abnormalities. The patient and a number of relatives also show epilepsy. That disorder seems to exist mainly in the paternal kinship, and the coexistence of transexxualism and epilepsy in the patient seems coincidental.
