Evaluating the Content, Quality, and Reliability of Migraine-related Videos on TikTok in China: Opportunities and Challenges for Health Information Dissemination.

This descriptive cross-sectional study investigated the content, quality, and reliability of migraine-related videos on TikTok. The top 200 migraine-related TikTok videos (176 eligible) were analyzed to assess content quality and reliability using Goobie's 6 questions and the DISCERN questionnaire. Although 98.8% (174/176) of the videos were physician-uploaded, 58.5% lacked disease definitions, and 34.7% omitted outcomes. While physician-uploaded videos had higher DISCERN scores, 36.93% still received a "poor" rating, and no correlation was found between video quality and engagement metrics (l

Neuroimmune dysregulation and comorbidity mechanisms of major depressive disorder and migraine.

BACKGROUND: Although major depressive disorder (MDD) and migraine often present together, their comorbidity mechanisms are complex. This study aims to identify potential biomarkers and common mechanisms of MDD-migraine through neuroimmune microenvironment and transcriptome data, which is crucial for understanding its pathogenesis and developing diagnostic and treatment strategies. METHODS: We constructed a dynamic atlas of neural-peripheral immune cells in patients experiencing a MDD-migraine comorbidity. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified and performed functional enrichment

Overlapping pathways of migraine and the endocannabinoid system: Potential therapeutic targets.

Migraine is a disabling neurovascular disorder with limited therapeutic options, especially for patients unresponsive to current treatments targeting calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) signaling. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) has emerged as a promising alternative for migraine modulation, offering analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and neuroimmune-regulatory effects through its main ligands, anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), and their degrading enzymes. This review provides an updated map of endocannabinoid components in central and peripheral migraine-relevant regions, hig

Evaluation of the antimigraine and anti-neuroinflammatory activity of purified constituents of Petasites hybridus L. in a migraine-like pain model in mice.

Migraine is a prevalent neurovascular disorder strongly associated with neuroinflammation, altered neurotransmitter release, and sensory hypersensitivity. Extracts of Petasites hybridus (butterbur) rootstocks, standardized with eremophilane-type sesquiterpenoids (petasins), have clinically demonstrated efficacy in migraine. However, the pharmacological properties of purified petasins remain insufficiently explored. This study aimed to evaluate their antimigraine and anti-neuroinflammatory potential both in vivo and in vitro. Six sesquiterpenoids were isolated via centrifugal partition chromato

Circadian Regulation of m6A RNA Methylation in Migraine: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Implications.

Migraine is a complex neurological disorder showing distinct circadian rhythmicity in its onset and intensity. Attacks often follow daily patterns, suggesting that molecular clock mechanisms modulate neuronal excitability and pain signaling. Recent advances in neuroepigenetics identify RNA modifications particularly N6-methyladenosine (m6A) as rapid regulators of gene expression that respond to circadian cues. Exploring this circadian epitranscriptomic interaction may clarify time-of-day variations in migraine risk and drug response. This review integrates recent molecular and translational st
