BACKGROUND: Interstitial lung diseases are commonly seen in association with Sjögren's disease, especially lymphoproliferative disorders, such as lymphoid interstitial pneumonia. In occasional and rare cases, pulmonary amyloidosis with cysts, nodules, and/or ground-glass opacites as radiological features, can also become a complication of Sjögren's disease. On the other hand, diffuse cystic lung disease, without nodules, concomitant with chylous fluid accumulation in female leads to initial suspicion of lymphangioleiomyomatosis. Interestingly, it's challenging to differentiate if diffuse cysti

Depression is a major and under-recognized comorbidity in Sjögren's disease, contributing to disease burden and impaired quality of life. This narrative review summarizes current evidence regarding the prevalence, pathophysiological mechanisms, clinical impact, assessment, and treatment of depression in patients with Sjögren's disease. Reported prevalence rates range widely from 3.2% to 78.6%, largely owing to methodological heterogeneity, although meta-analytic data demonstrate a significantly increased risk of depression in patients with Sjögren's disease than in healthy controls. SLE may occur simultaneously with or subsequently to other autoimmune diseases; such cases are called overlap syndromes. Cases of SLE overlapping with three or more autoimmune diseases are extremely rare, and there is no unified standard or consensus for treatment. We report a clinical case of a patient with SLE, immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy, Sjögren's syndrome, and psoriasis. After treatment with a triple immunosuppressive regimen containing telitacicept, the patient achieved a satisfactory therapeutic response. As the first dual-pathway inhibitor targeting BLyS/APRIL, telitacicept de

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: Sicca symptoms, including ocular and oral dryness, are frequently reported among patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc). Yet most studies have focused on patients with associated Sjögren disease (SjD) and data on SSc patients with isolated sicca symptoms remain limited. Therefore, we aimed to (i) investigate the characteristics of SSc patients with and without sicca symptoms, after excluding individuals with associated SjD or other potential causes of dryness, and (ii) identify factors independently associated with the presence of sicca manifestations.

BACKGROUND: Dry eye disease (DED) is a common category of ocular surface disease caused by insufficient tear secretion or reduced tear film quality, which leads to damage to ocular surface epithelial cells and initiates an inflammatory response, ultimately forming a vicious cycle dominated by chronic inflammation. The signaling pathways involved in DED are complex and need to be further explored.
METHODS: A literature search of PubMed was conducted to identify studies on DED published between 2013 and 2026.The search strategy adopted a combination of keywords as follows: "dry eye disease", "n

A 66-year-old woman with a history of Sjögren's disease presented with sudden-onset low back pain that rapidly worsened, necessitating emergency admission. Laboratory testing revealed severe coagulopathy (hemoglobin, 6.7g/dL; prothrombin time, 101.9 s; prothrombin activity, 5.7%; activated partial thromboplastin time, 193.7 s). Imaging demonstrated bilateral pulmonary infiltrates compatible with alveolar hemorrhage and active bleeding within the right iliopsoas muscle. After transcatheter arterial embolization, the patient required mechanical ventilation for progressive respiratory failure. Co

UNLABELLED: Anemia affects 1.62 billion people globally, with a high prevalence in vulnerable groups, including 67.1% of children and 59.1% of women in India. Traditional anemia screening methods are invasive, costly, and impractical in remote areas. This study aims to evaluate the EzeCheck non-invasive device for estimating hemoglobin levels, comparing its efficacy with conventional hematology analyzers. The goal is to provide a more accessible and efficient solution for anemia screening, particularly in resourcelimited settings. This hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted at Medi

OBJECTIVES: Primary Sjögren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease with an inflammation of exocrine glands. It can be difficult to diagnose due to frequently unspecific symptoms, such as fatigue and myalgia. The aim of this study was to investigate the journey of patients prior to the diagnosis of primary Sjögren's syndrome and how this affects the patient-reported outcomes.
METHODS: The study included 170 patients from the outpatient clinic with an age of at least 18 years that were diagnosed with primary Sjögren's syndrome (ICD-10 M35.0) and fulfilled ACR/EULAR 2016 criteria at least 12
