PURPOSE: Therapeutic contact lenses (TCL) are known to help in epithelial healing and decreasing pain after various corneal surgeries. However, literature lacks any data describing their use following Descemet's stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) where intraoperative epithelial debridement is commonly performed. Corneal crosslinking (CXL) is the current mainstay treatment for progressive keratoconus. In the past 15 years, a variety of other indications have been tested. A systematic review was conducted to examine these alternative indications for CXL.
