Bilateral Keratouveitis and Secondary Glaucoma in a Young Dog With Immune-Mediated Polyarthritis and Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome.

A 7-month-old intact female mixed-breed dog presented emergently for inability to walk, lethargy, and vomiting. The patient was diagnosed with immune-mediated polyarthritis (IMPA) and secondary systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). Bilateral keratouveitis and secondary glaucoma developed within 24 h of presentation. Thorough diagnostic testing failed to identify an underlying etiology. Despite aggressive medical management, the patient developed rapid vision loss. Due to poor visual prognosis and anticipated need for long-term medical management, both eyes were enucleated. Effectiveness of Low-Dose Atropine Combined With Bright Light Therapy for Controlling Myopic Eye Growth in Schoolchildren: Study Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial.

BACKGROUND: Myopia is increasingly prevalent worldwide, with projections indicating that nearly 50% of the global population may have myopia by 2050. This surge poses significant concerns due to its impact on vision and quality of life and its link to a range of blinding diseases, including myopic macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachment. Current pharmacologic and optical interventions offer limited effectiveness in slowing myopia progression, highlighting the urgent need for more effective treatments. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to examine the combined effect of bright light the

Vitamin B Intake Is Associated With Lower Incidence of Open-Angle Glaucoma: The Rotterdam Study.

OBJECTIVE: There is increasing evidence that B-vitamins may be important for open-angle glaucoma (OAG) prevention due to their roles in neuroprotection, vascular health, and the regulation of homocysteine metabolism, which may influence optic nerve integrity and intraocular pressure (IOP). Therefore, we examined the association between dietary intake of B-vitamins and incident OAG (iOAG). DESIGN: We used data from the Rotterdam Study, a prospective, population-based cohort study in the Netherlands. PARTICIPANTS: We included participants who were free of OAG at baseline, had at least 1 ophtha

Disentangling crossing fibers with advanced dMRI methods reveals bundle-specific degeneration across the visual system in asymmetric glaucoma.

Diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) is a non-invasive neuroimaging technique that enables in vivo assessment of white matter microstructure and is highly sensitive to tissue alterations associated with disease. Although substantial evidence links diffusion-derived metrics to underlying white matter tissue properties, the presence of complex within-voxel axonal configurations complicates their biological interpretation. Several methods have been proposed to assess diffusion properties of individual crossing axonal populations, but their validation and clinical applicability remain limit
